Our Curriculum

Queensland Academy Curriculum

We offer both Junior and Senior Secondary School programs, in line with the National Policy on Education. These two levels are integral components of the 6-3-3-4 system of education.

Junior Secondary School (JSS) – Grades 7-9

Our Junior Secondary School provides a comprehensive three-year program that blends both academic and pre-vocational subjects, preparing students for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) at state and national levels. Students study a wide range of subjects, including English, Mathematics, French, Nigerian Languages (Yoruba/Igbo), Basic Science and Technology, National Value Education, Pre-Vocational Studies, Business Studies, Cultural and Creative Arts, Religious Studies (Christian Religious Knowledge/Islamic Religious Knowledge), History, Science Checkpoints (English, Mathematics, and Science), and Arabic (optional). All students are required to take a minimum of nine subjects.

Senior Secondary School (SSS) – Grades 10-12

Upon completing Junior Secondary School, students advance to Senior Secondary School, where they are streamed into different academic pathways based on their performance and career interests. These pathways include Science, Arts, and Commercial tracks.

At the Senior Secondary level, students are prepared for the following examinations:

Nigerian Curriculum:

WASSCE (West African Senior School Certificate Examination), organized by WAEC (West African Examination Council)
SSCE (Senior Secondary Certificate Examination), organized by NECO (National Examination Council)

International Curriculum:

Cambridge IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education)
